Dattatreya launches NCS and Jeevan Praman facility to EPFO pensioners


Hyderabad, Feb 12 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today launched National Career Service (NCS) and JeevanPraman facility to EPFO pensioners through Post Offices at DakSadan, here. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dattatreya said that India Post having large network of more than 1,55,000 post offices and its strength would be useful to the Nation, leveraging Post Offices as employment registration centres for un-employed rural youth through “National Career Service” Portal. It would build a bridge between the net connected urban areas and non connected rural areas and help the youth to avail facility to register for employment at their door step hassle free and provide access to the un-employed youth to a rich repository of career content on over 3000 occupations across 52 sectors kept by NCS database. 

He also said that EPFO pensioners can now submit their JeevanPraman(Digital Life Certificate) through Head Post Offices. He said that the youth force in the country will be estimated 80 crore by 2020. In which, the Center has decided to provide employment for five crore people over next five years. 

Department of Posts Secretary B V Sudhakar said that Indiapost is having large postal network of more than 1,55,000 post offices in India and India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) would become the greatest semi-banking sector ever in the history of banking. He also told that Post Offices will function as Employment Registration Centres for Unemployed rural youth through “National Career Service” Portal which will be helping the youth to avail facility to register for employment at their door steps. 

He said that EPFO Pensioners can submit their digital life certificates (JeevanPramaan) through Head Post Offices. 

Further he said that an MoU agreement was entered between Department of Agriculture, GoTS and Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Circle, Hyderabad on February 1, 2017 on Soil Health Scheme which is one stop solution for farmers and will be implemented Pan India; that Passport sevaKendras are going to be set up at Siddipet and Hanamkonda that going to have a tie-up with Ministry of Power for conducting survey of the powerless houses. 

Mr Heeralal, Addl Secretary to MoLE said that there are 14 lakh employers registered with NCS and 3.8 crores job seekers enrolled so far. It was launched for 95 Head Post offices and will be extended All over India, he added.
