The historical 22nd All India Conference of National Association of postal employees, Group-C was held at “Bhagyamala Auditorium Hall, Tiruvanantapuram, Kerala state from 5.2.2017 to 7.2.2017. The open session commenced on 5.2.17 started at 5.30 pm under the chairmanship of Sri Neyyattinkara Sanal, Chairman Reception Committee. Sri Ramesh Chennitala, Hon’ble Opposition Leader of Kerala Legislative Assembly, attended the meeting as Chief Guest and apprised the Postal service and India Post is paying key roll in Banking also. Sri D.Kishanrao General Secretary inaugurated the conference and welcome note delivered to the delegates/Visitors by covering all the challenges facing by the working class in the country and particularly in Postal Department. Sri D.Theagarajan, Secretary General, FNPO was attended as Chief Guest addressed the gathering about 7th CPC related issues, Trade union situation in India and Central Govt. Strategies. Sri T.N Rahathe, GS, NUPE PM&MTS, Sri N.Ramappa, GS, NUR IV, Sri Sivadasan, GS, Civil wing union, Sri P.U.Muralidharan, GS, NUGDS, Sri Gulam Rabbani, President CHQ, NUPE PM&MTS, Sri Ch.Lakshminarayana, President, NUGDS CHQ were also graced the conference.
On 6.2.2017 from 10 am to 8 pm delegate session held. Total 276 delegates and more than 1000 visitors attended the conference. Many of the delegates participated in the debate on sectional problems like, CSI, CBS, Mc mish, lack of Infrastructure, non implementation of Cadre restructuring, Ex-service man pay fixation, Bench mark obstacle for MACP promotion, OTA, LGO and residual vacancies, and other issues. Sri D.Kishanrao and Sri D.Theagarajan given replies to all the issues raised by the Delegates in length.
On 7.2.2017 Sri T.N.Rahathe, President FNPO, spokes about the stand of FNPO in the current trade union movement and also explained the achievements during the period under review. The NAPE Gr-c had approved its policy and programme with genuine concern based upon the past bitter experience do here by restricts the ALL India Union from joining with the NJCA for the sectional demand and avoid other issues with political intent. However joining with JCA for our demands is desired and can therefore be opted to as per the demand of the situation. And many of the resolutions which proposed by the delegates were taken into account and same will be sent to the Department for immediate redresal. For conducting the next conference Andhrapradesh &Telangana, West Bengal and Karnataka circle came forward. The conference is extended for one day on 8.2.2017.
